Even the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo opener on Thursday separates the men from the boys: the spectacular MITAS ROCKET RIDE hillclimb race is all about holding the throttle wide open!

From 12:00 a.m. competitors have 2 timed qualification heats to conquer the massive 4-story uphill in the shortest time. Only the 48 fastest riders enter the mitas ROCKET RIDE Superfinals at 8:00 p.m.

The final heats show 6 riders attacking the track in true MX-style, with only the 3 fastest competitors emerging to the next round. The mixed starting grid of riders from 40 nations, pros and amateurs, provide exciting racing action until the very last final and until the eventual winner is crowned with victory of the mitas ROCKET RIDE!

The MITAS ROCKET RIDE spectator areas are located only a few minutes walk away from the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Arena and offer a breathtaking sight on the mighty uphill racetrack as well as food and beverage stands. The evening Superfinals will be presented by the Red Bull Erzbergrodeos event announcer.

Another Thursday highlight is the official Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Opening Press Conference. Erzbergrodeo Mastermind Karl Katoch presents top riders and noticeable rookies to the international media. The press conference will be broadcasted Live inside the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Action Arena from 1:00 p.m.

On Thursday night the big Erzbergrodeo Egger Festival marquee finally opens its doors: right after the MITAS ROCKET RIDE award ceremony the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Kick-Off Night gets riders and visitors on their feet at the Iron Giant! The Erzbergrodeo resident DJ will rock the beer tent until 4:00 in the morning...!
